About Botswana

Botswana operates on a deliberately high-value, low-volume model: fewer beds per park, higher rates, almost no self-drive overland traffic in the premium concessions. Chobe is the day-trip headline from Victoria Falls, but the Okavango Delta is the country's soul: water-based safaris by mokoro canoe in a wetland the size of Switzerland. When to visit

May to October is peak. The Delta flood actually arrives in dry season (it travels south from Angola), so July to September is when water levels are highest and mokoro safaris work best. Chobe game viewing peaks August to October when animals press to the river.

Best for
