Botswana attraction

Khwai concession

Community-run wilderness on the Delta's edge.

About this place

Khwai is a community-managed concession bordering Moremi, where revenue goes to the Khwai village. The concession allows night drives and off-road tracking, which most government parks in Botswana do not. This makes it one of the best places in the country for nocturnal predators (leopard, hyena, civet, genet) and a flexible safari style.

What to do

Night game drives (rare in Botswana, only in concessions like Khwai)

Off-road predator tracking

Walking safaris

Mokoro safaris in the river's seasonal channels

Community visits to Khwai village
