Itinerary
Depart Windhoek north to the Waterberg Plateau or Otjiwarongo. Afternoon at the Waterberg Plateau Park, or a visit to the AfriCat Foundation or Cheetah Conservation Fund for a cheetah and leopard rehabilitation programme talk and feeding.
Continue to Etosha National Park, entering at the Andersson Gate. Afternoon game drive to the Okaukuejo waterhole, one of the most productive floodlit waterholes in Africa, black rhino, elephant, lion and giraffe come in through the night.
Full day in Etosha, game drives between the waterholes of the Okaukuejo and Halali sectors, along the edge of the vast white Etosha Pan. Springbok, oryx, zebra, blue wildebeest, black-faced impala, black rhino and the pale Etosha elephant.
Eastern Etosha, the Namutoni sector, Fischer's Pan, the Chudop and Klein Namutoni waterholes and the historic German fort at Namutoni. Evening at a floodlit waterhole.
Final morning game drive, then the drive south to Windhoek, arriving late afternoon for evening departure.

February has maximum water flow: The falls are at their most powerful with incredible spray (the "smoke that thunders"). Views may be obscured by mist, but the experience is dramatic. Temperatures are warm (25-30°C) with occasional rain.

The bridge was built from both sides simultaneously, meeting perfectly in the middle. Construction took 14 months (1904-1905) using steel shipped from England. The arch was assembled on falsework and then dropped into place - a remarkable engineering feat for its time.
Victoria Falls Bridge was completed in 1905 as part of Cecil Rhodes' Cape to Cairo railway vision. It spans 198 meters across the Zambezi Gorge, 128 meters above the river. Designed by Sir Ralph Freeman, it's a steel arch bridge used for rail, road, and foot traffic.
Zimbabwe side weather: Similar to Zambia but slightly hotter in summer. January-March: 25-30°C with rain. April-June: 15-25°C, dry. July-September: 10-25°C, cool nights. October-December: 25-35°C, becoming rainy. The microclimate near the falls is always humid.
It depends: Zimbabwe has more viewpoints and better overall views. Zambia offers unique experiences like Devil's Pool and closer waterfall access. Most visitors recommend seeing both sides if possible. Zimbabwe is better for first-time visitors wanting comprehensive views.
