Arusha to Tarangire National Park. Full-day game drive among baobabs and elephant herds along the Tarangire River. Overnight near the park.

Drive west through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, stopping at the crater rim viewpoint and the Olduvai Gorge museum, where the Leakeys uncovered hominin remains that rewrote human prehistory. Continue into the Serengeti. Afternoon game drive in the Seronera valley.

Full day in the central Serengeti, dawn and afternoon game drives in the Seronera valley, the most reliable leopard and lion country in the park, with cheetah on the open plains. Optional dawn hot-air balloon flight with a champagne breakfast (supplement).

Morning Serengeti game drive, then the drive east to the Ngorongoro rim or Karatu.

Early descent into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day on the floor, black rhino, big-maned lions, elephant and flamingo. Ascend mid-afternoon and return to Arusha.
