Flow
Arrival Zanzibar. Transfer to Stone Town. Afternoon guided walking tour, the House of Wonders and Old Fort exteriors, the former slave market and Anglican cathedral, the Sultan's Palace, the carved Zanzibari doors and the Darajani market. Sunset at the Forodhani night food market.
Morning spice farm tour, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla and cardamom, with a tasting and a spice-flavoured Swahili lunch. Afternoon transfer to the north or east coast. Sunset on the beach.
Beach day at leisure. Optional excursions: a Safari Blue dhow trip to the Menai Bay sandbanks with snorkelling and a seafood barbecue, diving at Mnemba Atoll, or a visit to Jozani Forest for the endemic Zanzibar red colobus monkey.
Morning at leisure on the beach, then the transfer to Zanzibar Airport for afternoon flights.

February has maximum water flow: The falls are at their most powerful with incredible spray (the "smoke that thunders"). Views may be obscured by mist, but the experience is dramatic. Temperatures are warm (25-30°C) with occasional rain.

The bridge was built from both sides simultaneously, meeting perfectly in the middle. Construction took 14 months (1904-1905) using steel shipped from England. The arch was assembled on falsework and then dropped into place - a remarkable engineering feat for its time.
Victoria Falls Bridge was completed in 1905 as part of Cecil Rhodes' Cape to Cairo railway vision. It spans 198 meters across the Zambezi Gorge, 128 meters above the river. Designed by Sir Ralph Freeman, it's a steel arch bridge used for rail, road, and foot traffic.
Zimbabwe side weather: Similar to Zambia but slightly hotter in summer. January-March: 25-30°C with rain. April-June: 15-25°C, dry. July-September: 10-25°C, cool nights. October-December: 25-35°C, becoming rainy. The microclimate near the falls is always humid.
It depends: Zimbabwe has more viewpoints and better overall views. Zambia offers unique experiences like Devil's Pool and closer waterfall access. Most visitors recommend seeing both sides if possible. Zimbabwe is better for first-time visitors wanting comprehensive views.
