Collection from your hotel and the short drive to the park gate, where your guide completes entry and briefs the drive: what is being seen at the moment, where, and what the plan is for the session.
The riverside road follows the Zambezi upstream, which is where the game concentrates in the dry months. Elephant come down to drink, and hippo and crocodile hold the channels and sandbanks.
The route turns inland through teak woodland and open vlei, which is the better ground for sable, eland and giraffe. Guides work the loops according to recent sightings rather than a fixed circuit.
On afternoon drives the vehicle stops at a river viewpoint for a drink as the light goes, which is the best photography of the day. Return transfer to your hotel is included.
