Cape Town to Hermanus along the Whale Coast. Afternoon cliff-path whale watching in season; optional Gansbaai shark-cage dive.
Via Cape Agulhas and the Overberg to Oudtshoorn in the Little Karoo. Afternoon at an ostrich farm and the Cango Caves, a vast dripstone cavern system in the Swartberg.
Over the Outeniqua Pass to Knysna. Afternoon at the Knysna Heads and a lagoon cruise with oysters.
Knysna — the Featherbed Nature Reserve, the Knysna forest and the Garden of Eden boardwalk, plus the elephant sanctuary.
Plettenberg Bay and Tsitsikamma — Monkeyland and Birds of Eden, the Bloukrans bungee (optional), and the Storms River Mouth suspension bridges.
Drive east to Addo Elephant National Park. Afternoon game drive among more than 600 elephant, plus buffalo, lion, black rhino and the flightless dung beetle found nowhere else.
Full Addo day — dawn and afternoon game drives, and an optional marine excursion from Port Elizabeth for whales, dolphins and Cape gannets in Algoa Bay, which holds the world's largest African penguin and gannet breeding colonies.
Morning game drive, then the transfer to Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha) for afternoon flights.

February has maximum water flow: The falls are at their most powerful with incredible spray (the "smoke that thunders"). Views may be obscured by mist, but the experience is dramatic. Temperatures are warm (25-30°C) with occasional rain.

The bridge was built from both sides simultaneously, meeting perfectly in the middle. Construction took 14 months (1904-1905) using steel shipped from England. The arch was assembled on falsework and then dropped into place - a remarkable engineering feat for its time.
Victoria Falls Bridge was completed in 1905 as part of Cecil Rhodes' Cape to Cairo railway vision. It spans 198 meters across the Zambezi Gorge, 128 meters above the river. Designed by Sir Ralph Freeman, it's a steel arch bridge used for rail, road, and foot traffic.
Zimbabwe side weather: Similar to Zambia but slightly hotter in summer. January-March: 25-30°C with rain. April-June: 15-25°C, dry. July-September: 10-25°C, cool nights. October-December: 25-35°C, becoming rainy. The microclimate near the falls is always humid.
It depends: Zimbabwe has more viewpoints and better overall views. Zambia offers unique experiences like Devil's Pool and closer waterfall access. Most visitors recommend seeing both sides if possible. Zimbabwe is better for first-time visitors wanting comprehensive views.
