Arrive at Maun International Airport, clear immigration and meet your representative. Maun is the gateway to the Delta and the staging point for every flight into the concessions. Overnight in Maun with a briefing on baggage limits for the bush flight.

A light-aircraft transfer into the inner Delta, which is itself one of the best game-viewing hours of the trip as the floodplain opens out below. Camp transfer, lunch, then an afternoon mokoro excursion through the reed channels.

A full day in the water concession. Mokoro at first light when the channels are still, a guided island walk to read tracks and smaller signs on foot, and a second water activity in the late afternoon. Red lechwe and sitatunga are the specialities here.

Move across to Moremi Game Reserve, which is the dry-land half of the ecosystem and where the predator viewing concentrates. An afternoon 4x4 game drive through floodplain and mopane for lion, leopard and wild dog.

An early morning game drive while the light is good, then back to camp for breakfast and the flight out to Maun for onward connections. Park and conservation fees are included throughout.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, October is excellent! Water levels are moderate, the spray isn't overwhelming, weather is warm (25-35°C), and Devil's Pool is usually accessible. It's less crowded than peak season and offers good value for money.

September offers excellent conditions: Water flow is reduced enough for clear views, weather is warm and dry, Devil's Pool opens (usually mid-August to January), and it's shoulder season with fewer crowds. Perfect for photography and activities.

June offers cool, dry conditions: Water flow is moderate, temperatures are comfortable (10-25°C) with cool nights, and visibility is good. It's low season with fewer crowds and good hotel rates. Bring warm clothing for evenings.

May offers transitional conditions: Water flow begins to decrease, spray reduces improving visibility, weather is pleasant (15-27°C), and crowds are moderate. A good balance between water volume and viewing conditions.

The Zimbabwe side offers: 75% of the viewpoints, better panoramic views, the main falls viewpoint, Devil's Cataract, Danger Point, and excellent photography spots. The town has more infrastructure, shops, and restaurants. Entrance: $30 for international visitors.
