Helicopter flights over Victoria Falls are often called the Flight of Angels, after a line attributed to David Livingstone, that scenes so lovely must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight. The name stuck, and it is the one view of the Falls you cannot get from any path or bridge.

The scenic flight gives you a bird's-eye view of Victoria Falls, the Zambezi River and the Batoka Gorge. The pilot typically flies several circles so everyone gets clear views and photographs, whichever side of the helicopter they sit on. How the day works

Hotel to helipad and back

A driver collects you from your hotel in Victoria Falls and takes you to the helipad. You check in and board for the flight. After landing you are met at the helipad and driven back to your hotel. The whole outing is short, so it fits around a Falls tour or a cruise.

Which should you choose

12 minutes is enough for most people

For most travellers the 12 to 13 minute flight is enough to see the Falls properly from above. The 25-minute flight suits keen photographers and anyone who wants more time over the river. If the budget allows only one, book the shorter flight and spend the difference on a sunset cruise.
