About Kenya

Kenya fits an unusual amount into short distances: the Masai Mara, the Rift Valley lakes, Amboseli under Kilimanjaro, and a coastline with a history of its own. The Mara is the northern continuation of the Serengeti ecosystem, so it is the same migration seen from the other side of the border. The private conservancies bordering the reserve allow night drives and off-road following, which the national reserve itself does not.

Quando visitar

July to October is the Mara high season, when the herds are usually north of the Mara river. January and February are dry, hot and quieter. The long rains fall in April and May, the short rains in November. The coast is warm and humid all year.

Kenya replaced its visa with an Electronic Travel Authorisation. Almost every visitor needs one, applied for online before departure, including passports that used to be exempt.
