Search for an African safari cost and you will get quotes that differ by a factor of a hundred. That is not the market being dishonest. It is three variables moving at once.

The first is how you move. A road transfer costs what fuel and a driver cost. A light aircraft into a private concession costs what a charter seat costs, and it is the single biggest lever on the price of any safari trip.

The second is where you sleep, and specifically whether the camp sits inside a park or concession or outside it. Inside, you are paying for exclusivity and for the fact that supplies arrive by air.

The third is how many people share the vehicle. A seat on a scheduled departure and a private guided vehicle are different products wearing the same words. When you compare african safari packages, check this before you compare anything else.

If you are based at Victoria Falls, a great deal is reachable on a day rate. A guided walk on the Zambian side of the falls runs 30 dollars. A town tour in Livingstone is 60. A bike tour is 61.

This is the tier people underestimate. You are not buying a lesser safari africa experience, you are buying it without accommodation attached.
